Arriving Luang Prabang Airport, welcome on arrival and transfer to hotel for check in. In the visitors’eye, Luang Prabang turns up with the mossy ancientness and timeless streets, especially the night lanterns make Luang Prabang look like a candle in the dark. Room is at your disposal from 14.00 onwards. Free time at your leisure to discover the city. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

On this day of tour, we will visit around this charming city. Located on the left bank of the Mekong River, Luang Prabang used to be a religious capital of Laos, thus it is the concentration of more than 100 temples. Particularly, visitors will discover Vat Xieng Thong (means “The Golden City”) or Temple of the Royal city, the oldest, most important and most beautiful temple of Luang Prabang. It was built under the reign of the King Setthathirat (1559-1560). The temple is splendidly decorated with carving and mosaics within a picturesque scenery surrounding.

Next, we will come to Vat Mai Temple. Erected at the end of the 18th century, the temple is a capped sanctuary featuring a five-sided roof surmounted by three parasols. Another temple we will visit is Vat Visoun which is particular with its wooden windows designed according to the architecture of the Khmer Temple of Vat Phou. We will also visit Vat Aham temple, which is next to Vat Visoun. Transfer to Vat Sene, the first monastery of which roof was covered with yellow and red tile that made it colorful.

At the end of the afternoon, let’s climb Mount Phousi to contemplate the fantastic picture of sunset. It’s ideal time to take some nice photos. On the way back to hotel, we will visit the H’mong Night Market for exploration and buy some lovely souvenirs. Transfer back to hotel. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

The city’s sounds and smells of a new day wake you up among the songs of birds around here. In the early morning, the local guide will guide you to witness the Tak Bat ceremony of monks. After that, you and the guide will transfer to a local market, which is always tumultuous in the mornings. The sights, sounds, and smells you see will make you feel yourself like a local here. The market looks splendid with numerous colors of fruits, vegetables, meats, fishes or traditional herbs and spices. Then we go to a pier, take a long-tailed boat for an upstream cruise.

Two hours upstream on the boat is the great time exploring and feeling the distinction of the Mekong River in Laos. From the far distance, limestone cliffs appear impressively among the intersection flow of Nam Ou River into the Mekong. That is where the “hiding” of the sacred Pak Ou Caves, associated with beliefs of Lao people for over 600 years. The cave is the home of more than 4000 Buddha statues which were brought to here reverently by the Lao to hide, throughout the centuries. Pak Ou is actually the common name for the two arch caves sheltered in the mountains: Tam Ting and Tam Phum.

On the way back to the city, stop at Ban Xang Hai village where you understand how Lao traditional rice whisky is distilled. Certainly, visitors are free to sample its flavour. Reaching Luang Prabang, we travel by car to Ban Xang Khong village, an ideal place to discover the well-known wood paper and Lao silk weaving. Get in the car and follow the call of Khuang Sy, we drive through a beautiful road with some stops to visit ethnic villages such as Ban Na Oun Hmong hill tribe, Ban Naxom, and Ban Ou Lao Loum. Then, we continue the route until putting the first step at the area of the waterfall and enjoy a picnic lunch.

Khuang Sy is located in a fauna and flora conversation area of Laos, surrounded by lush jungle with many large and small falls. The roaring stream flows down from above, making spectacular scenery of brilliant rainbow among the sparkling sunshine. The waterfall attracts visitors due to not only the turquoise water but also its layer shape of terraces alike.

The aquamarine water starts its flow from upstream and carries an enormous number of algae, the main factor making the fall’s all-year-round green. Transfer back to hotel. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
